The first step is to have either Dr. Kutsch or Renyer examine your teeth. They will check to be sure you do not have any areas of decay or even a broken or cracked tooth. If you do not have any dental issues, you simply may have sensitive teeth. You should try a sensitive formulated toothpaste, usually this type of toothpaste can take a few weeks for you to receive relief. You should avoid tartar control toothpaste because the additive which fights tartar build up can actually make your teeth more sensitive. You can also rinse with a fluoride rinse, which helps to fortify your enamel, and possibly the exposed dentin, which will make your teeth less sensitive.
If the sensitivity persists, you should call our office.
